profile for Reverend Rob Carr
Rev. Rob
Carr has lived for most of his life in the Greater Kansas City area. He
attended Kansas State University and received a degree in history in 1977.
He studied at the Divinity School of Vanderbilt University in Nashville,
Tennessee and Saint Paul School of Theology in Kansas City, receiving a
Masters of Divinity Degree in 1984.
Rob has served churches in
Washington state; Overland Park, Kansas; Kansas City, Kansas; and Fort
Scott, Kansas. He began his service at North Oak Christian Church in
February 1999.
From 1996 to 1998, Rob took part in the Academy for
Spiritual Formation, a comprehensive program of study in the field of
Christian Spirituality. Rob is also trained as a teacher of
centering prayer, a simple form of silent open-ness to God, practiced for
centuries in the Church and being renewed in our time. (For more

primary calling is in equipping and encouraging people to explore and
deepen their lives in Christ...allowing themselves to be ever more open to
Christ's loving, gracious and challenging invitation to
"follow."
Rob is married to Kathy and together they parent five children including a daughter-in law.
Adam is 29 and married to Meg 29. Allison is 25. Abby is 19. And Taylor is 16.
